Q. What is a school counselor?
A. A school counselor is an educator that supports students with social, emotional, and academic choices, and successes. Counseling support can a school counselor can provide includes weekly whole class lessons, small group, and/or in individual sessions. School Counselors also work alongside teachers, administrators, & parents to help students work through any barriers they may face!
Q. When do I need to see the school counselor?
A. When you are worried about something, want help working through a hard problem, having trouble with another student or adult, need help focusing in-class, confused, big changes in your life both good or bad, if you feel like you are going to hurt yourself or someone else, or if you just need to talk to someone about anything.
Q. How do I see the school counselor or talk about a friend that I am worried about?
A. To request counseling email or call Tr. Rosie. If you are in school, you can also ask your teacher to see the counselor. Tr. Rosie will work with the classroom teacher to schedule a time.
Q. What if my student needs mental health services in addition to school counseling?
A. Contact Tr. Rosie and she will work with you to find the best fit for you and your child to ensure that all of their needs are met.
