At Stratford Friends School, gardening has been a long and beloved tradition. Our students have planted flowers, grown herbs, and enjoyed a fresh strawberry at recess from time to time. To grow on this tradition, we are excited to share our new initiative, the Food for Life program.

The Food for Life program is designed to offer our students practical and reality-based learning experiences in science, math, and financial literacy for all students in grades K-9. This exciting initiative focuses on enhancing our current gardens, adding a fence, installing a greenhouse onto school grounds to allow for year-round growth, and purchasing a mobile kitchen cart.  Students will learn to grow, care for, and cook with garden fruits and vegetables.  The Food for Life program will teach our students life-long healthy eating habits and connect them to the natural world.

Help us reach our goal of $30,000 for the Food for Life program.  Every gift makes a difference and will allow us to enhance our current gardens and academic programs for our students by implementing this new initiative into all K-9 classrooms.
