Service Learning

MLK Making lunches   Service learning helps our students understand their ability to impact the larger community.

Some of the service learning opportunities students participate in throughout the year include:

Monthly casseroles: Each month a different team prepares dinner for residents of the Life Center of Eastern Delaware County.

Kids Helping Kids: Each month we collect items for daily living for families living in homeless shelters, including linens, toiletries and school supplies. We also hold a holiday toy and hat and mitten drive for children.

Candy drive: In October, we run a candy drive where students can donate their extra Halloween treats to shelter residents.

MLK day of service: Students and parent volunteers prepare about 400 bag lunches for shelter residents.

Annual Unity Day: In April, we raise money to buy bikes for children living in rural India providing them with a means of attending school.
